I saw your Channel 8 News broadcast and this story last night and had to "sarcastically chuckle." You don't need to go to New York for the story, Ticketmaster appears to be doing the same thing right here in San Diego outside your studio door, as well as in many other cities with many other concerts and professional sports teams? The last time I went to the San Diego Chargers website this past October they were doing exactly the same thing. When the Chargers website (TicketMaster) said there were no more tickets available for a certain game they re-directed you to their other company, TicketsNow where there were plenty of tickets available at significantly higher prices. The questions are: 1. Does TicketMaster deliberately withhold tickets available to the general public on the Chargers website to sell on TicketsNow for a much higher profit? 2. If so, do the Chargers know and condone this practice? 3. Even if the Chargers don't know or condone the practice...do the Chargers receive any revenue from TicketMaster for tickets sold on TicketsNow or TicketMasters' other company and service called Ticket Exchange? 4. If the Chargers and TicketMaster deny this practice why should we believe it in light of the Bruce Springsteen story? San Diego Charger fans need to know whether they are being “preyed upon and duped” too? Rick M. |
